TESDA’s Commitment to Upskilling and Reskilling OFWs

TESDA has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to enhancing upskilling and reskilling initiatives. In 2023, TESDA announced that it had trained over 20,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their dependents.

TESDA Director General, Secretary Suharto T. Mangudadatu, emphasized that OFWs will always be among TESDA’s priority clients for skills training and livelihood programs, and President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. has vowed to boost the government’s retraining programs for returning OFWs to reintegrate them into the local workforce.

Secretary Mangudadatu encouraged OFWs and their dependents to enroll in the TESDA Online Program (TOP), which offers:

From January to May 2024, about 4,780 returning and repatriated OFWs and their dependents completed various TESDA training programs.

Enhanced Accessibility

The TESDA Online Program has been made more accessible through the platform e-tesda.gov.ph, allowing OFWs to:

  • Access high-quality training materials anytime, anywhere.
  • Learn at their own pace, on their own schedule, and in the comfort of their home.
