TESDA offers three levels of Plumbing courses under the Philippine TVET Qualification Framework – NC I, NC II, NC III and Plumbing NC II Online Course. These courses aim to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to become competent plumbers.

Plumbing NC I

The Plumbing NC I course teaches you how to install basic plumbing units like a water meter, toilet, sink, shower with a water heater, and kitchen sink. You’ll also learn how to install floor drains and faucets.

Plumbing NC II

The Plumbing NC II course teaches skills for installing and maintaining plumbing systems, including hot and cold water lines, in medium-rise buildings.

COMMON COMPETENCIES

Qualifications

This section details the prerequisites for trainees, encompassing their educational background and professional experience. The requirements are as follows:

  1. Minimum of Senior High School (Grade 11 & 12) level or graduate.
  2. Holder of Plumbing NC I certification or relevant industry experience (plumbing works) for a minimum of 2 years* in the following areas:
  • Preparation of Plumbing Layout
  • Making Piping Joints and Connections
  • Performing Minor Construction Works
  • Installing and Assembling a Single Plumbing Unit

Note: *Certification must be provided by the employer or a Registered Master Plumber.

In addition to these technical requirements, the trainees should possess the following skills:

  1. Effective oral and written communication abilities.
  2. Proficiency in basic mathematical computations.

Please note that this list does not include specific institutional requirements such as a written entrance exam, which may be mandated by the school or training center offering the TVET program.

Plumbing NC II Online Course

The Plumbing NC II Online Course by TESDA Online Program provides essential plumbing skills with a flexible curriculum covering installation, maintenance, and technical drawing. Ideal for beginners and professionals, it offers learning at your own pace.

There are 5 modules in this online course, each with specific units and lessons that cover essential topics related to the plumbing industry. Let’s take a closer look at each module:

Module 1: Introduction to Plumbing

UNIT 1: The Plumbing Industry

Plumbing NC III

The Plumbing NC III course teaches skills needed to install both simple and complex plumbing systems, including water heaters for high-rise buildings. It also covers leadership and teamwork.

  • Install riser/downfeed and distribution water supply system
  • Install and connect pumps to plumbing system
  • Perform finishing and trimming of plumbing

Qualifications

This section specifies the qualifications of trainees, including their education and experience:

  1. At least a Grade 12 graduate.
  2. Holder of a National Certificate for Plumbing NC II or relevant industry experience in plumbing works for a minimum of 3 years* in all of the following:
  • Prepare estimation of materials for a single plumbing unit.
  • Perform complex plumbing installation and assemblies.
  • Conduct pipe leak testing.
  • Perform plumbing repair and maintenance works.

Note: Certified by the employer or a Registered Plumber.
