List of Apprenticeable and Learnable Occupations

Programs

a. Apprenticeship Program

The Apprenticeship Program is a training and employment initiative that involves a contract between an apprentice and an employer in an approved occupation. It aims to provide qualified skilled workers based on industry requirements. The apprenticeship period ranges from four to six months. Only companies with TESDA-approved and registered programs can hire apprentices.

Objectives:

  • Meet the economy’s demand for trained manpower
  • Establish a national apprenticeship program
  • Set apprenticeship standards for apprentice protection

b. Learnership Program

A practical on-the-job training for approved learnable occupations, lasting up to three months. Only companies with TESDA-approved and registered learnership programs can hire learners.

c. Dual Training System

Blended learning is an instructional mode that combines technology-based education and training. It involves learning in two different settings: the school or training center, and the company. One strategic approach in this program is converting industry practices/programs from the apprenticeship program to the DTS modality.

Objectives:

To enhance manpower education and training in the Philippines, the DTS will be institutionalized as a delivery system for technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

DTS Procedures

  • Schools and businesses interested in adopting the dual training system must apply for accreditation with TESDA.
  • Accreditation is necessary to ensure quality training and prevent abuses in program implementation.
  • To qualify for accreditation, the school or training center must have the necessary facilities, equipment, qualified teachers, and a training plan.
  • To become a DTS cooperator, a company must apply for accreditation through an accredited school.
  • The company accepting trainees must have the necessary equipment and workshop areas for hands-on training, qualified trainers, and a training plan.

There are 6 modules in the iSTAR program, each designed to help you develop your skills and knowledge in a specific area of interest.

Module 0: Safe Stores Education

  • This module is designed to help you develop a strong business mindset and the necessary skills to run your own business.

Module 5: Basic E-Commerce using Social Media UNDER THE iSTAR PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH COCA-COLA PHILIPPINES

Note: TESDA is enhancing the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TOP) by introducing pre and post tests. Completion of these tests is required to obtain a Certificate of Completion, guaranteeing program excellence.
