What is TESDA Online Program (TOP)

The TESDA Online Program (TOP) or eTESDA is a free web-based facility for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) launched by TESDA to help make technical-vocational education and training (TVET) more accessible “through the use of information and communication technologies.” The program made TESDA’s service delivery more efficient and effective, allowing the agency to contribute its share in the development of technical-vocational education and human resources in the country. According to the agency, TOP or eTESDA was especially “designed for students, out-of-school youths, unemployed adults, local and overseas workers, and professionals who would like to take TESDA courses at their own pace, in their own time, and at the comfort of their desktops or laptop computers.”

Because the free courses are available and accessible online 24/7, it allows the programs to reach a broader audience or wider range of users minus the hefty costs. The platforms were also designed with special accessibility features in some courses, which enhances the learning experience of busy Filipino learners and allow them to learn more and further improve their skills and employability.

Not only does it automate and improve the organization’s efficiency, but the BSRS also prevents errors and manipulation caused by human intervention through minimized central encoding.
